Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm, inspiring students to embrace a lifestyle of health, discipline, and inner balance. The programme provided a wonderful opportunity for students to understand the significance of yoga as a timeless Indian tradition that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different grades. Guided by their teachers, students performed a variety of yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation practices that highlighted the importance of physical fitness, mental clarity, flexibility, and emotional well-being.
The programme was organized under the able coordination of Mrs. Anitha, whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the event. The school leadership, headed by Principal Mrs. Sandhya V. B., along with the teaching faculty, actively participated in the activities and motivated students to practise yoga regularly.
Adding greater meaning to the occasion, teachers explained the scientific and health benefits associated with various yoga practices, emphasizing how yoga can improve concentration, reduce stress, enhance flexibility, and promote a positive outlook towards life.
The serene atmosphere, coupled with the enthusiastic involvement of students, transformed the school campus into a vibrant centre of wellness and mindfulness. The smiling faces of the children reflected their joy and eagerness to adopt healthy habits in their daily lives.
The celebration concluded with a collective pledge by students and teachers to make yoga an integral part of their everyday routine and to work towards building a healthier, happier, and more harmonious society.
