On Friday, 24 April 2026, Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School organised a comprehensive Training and Awareness Program on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and child safety. The initiative was designed to equip educators with the knowledge, sensitivity, and practical tools required to safeguard children in an increasingly complex social environment. Recognising that schools play a pivotal role in shaping students' academic, emotional, and physical well-being, the program underscored the urgent need for awareness and proactive engagement with child protection laws.
Purpose

POCSO Act is a landmark legislation in India aimed at protecting children from
sexual abuse, harassment, and exploitation. However, awareness and correct
implementation remain key challenges. This program sought to bridge that gap by
