📅 26th February
At
Alevoor Pooraprajna Public School, learning goes beyond the four walls of the
classroom. On 26th February, our bright and enthusiastic students from LKG to
Grade 4 stepped out for a meaningful and educational field visit to the Manipal
Police Station as part of a safety awareness initiative.
This visit was carefully organized to help our young learners understand the importance of safety, community helpers, and responsible citizenship from an early age.
🌟 A Warm Welcome and a New
Perspective
For
many of our students, it was their very first visit to a police station. What
awaited them was not fear, but warmth, friendliness, and inspiration. The
police officers welcomed the children with smiles and kindness, immediately
making them feel comfortable and secure.
The officers explained that the police are not someone to fear, but trusted community helpers who work tirelessly to maintain peace and protect society. This interaction helped build trust and confidence in the minds of our young learners.
🛡️ Safety Awareness Session –
Learning to Stay Protected
One
of the most important segments of the visit was the safety awareness session.
The officers conducted an age-appropriate and sensitive discussion on personal
safety and self-protection.
A small video is given below:
✔️ Good Touch and Bad Touch
In
a simple and child-friendly manner, the officers explained the concept of good
touch and bad touch. Students were encouraged to:
- Speak
up if they feel uncomfortable
- Say
“No” confidently
- Inform
a trusted adult immediately
This
empowering session instilled courage and awareness, helping children understand
that their safety always comes first.
🏢 Exploring the Police Station –
Learning Beyond Textbooks
The
students were taken on a guided tour of the police station to observe how it
functions. They learned:
- How
complaints are recorded
- How
officers work together to solve cases
- The
importance of teamwork and discipline
This
real-life exposure made learning practical and meaningful, turning abstract
concepts into tangible experiences.
🚨 A Glimpse into Responsibility
The
children were also given a brief look at the jail area. This helped them
understand the consequences of breaking rules and laws. It was a simple yet
powerful lesson on discipline, responsibility, and making the right choices.
The
officers also demonstrated some of their equipment, including safety gear and
other tools used to maintain peace and protect citizens. The demonstration was
educational and fascinating for the students.
📞 Learning About Emergency Help
Students
were guided on when and how to seek help during emergencies. They learned that
police officers are always ready to support and protect citizens in times of
need. This knowledge gave them a sense of security and confidence.
The
children actively participated by asking questions, and the officers patiently
answered each query. The exchange was filled with curiosity, enthusiasm, and
mutual respect.
🤝 Strengthening the Bond Between
School and Community
This
visit was much more than a field trip. It was a valuable experience that
strengthened the bond between our students and community protectors. Smiles,
excitement, and meaningful lessons filled the day.
Six
dedicated teachers from our school accompanied the students, ensuring guidance
and supervision throughout the visit.
🌱 Shaping Responsible Citizens
At
Alevoor Pooraprajna Public School, we believe that education must nurture not
only academic excellence but also awareness, courage, and good citizenship.
Programs like this help children grow into responsible and confident
individuals.
As
we always say:
“Safe
children grow into responsible citizens.”
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the officers of Manipal Police Station for their warm hospitality and for conducting such an informative and inspiring session for our young learners.
