Practice of Yoga for Students at Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School

At Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School, we are committed to nurturing the holistic development of every child. Along with academic excellence, we believe in providing opportunities that strengthen the body, sharpen the mind, and cultivate emotional balance.

As part of this vision, the school organizes regular Yoga sessions for our students. One such meaningful and energizing programme was held on 31.10.2025 in the school premises, where students from various classes actively participated.

Why Yoga for Children?

Yoga is much more than physical exercise — it is a way to help children understand themselves better. At a growing age, students face academic pressure, social interactions, and emotional changes. Yoga acts as a gentle tool to guide them through these experiences.

Some key benefits include:

  • Improved Concentration & Focus: Breathing exercises help children calm their minds, making it easier to concentrate in class.
  • Better Flexibility & Balance: Simple postures strengthen their bodies and improve posture.
  • Emotional Stability: Relaxation techniques help students manage stress, anxiety, and restlessness.
  • Enhanced Discipline & Mindfulness: Regular practice builds routines, self-control, and awareness of actions.
  • Positive Attitude & Energy: Yoga leaves children feeling refreshed, peaceful, and ready to learn.

Glimpses from the Yoga Session

Students Practicing Meditation

Students began the session with simple pranayama and meditation techniques, learning the art of quieting the mind and finding inner stillness.

Relaxation in Shavasana

After the active postures, students practiced Shavasana, a deep relaxation pose that helps release tension from the body and mind. Teachers guided them through a serene and calming process, ensuring every child experienced complete relaxation.

Yoga for Kindergarten Children

Our little ones also joined in the fun, practicing simple stretches and playful yoga movements. Early exposure helps children become comfortable with mindful habits from a young age.

A Shared Responsibility: School & Parents

We encourage all parents to motivate their children to:

  • Attend school Yoga sessions regularly
  • Practice a few simple exercises at home
  • Maintain good posture and breathing habits
  • Stay physically active and mindful

Together, we can help our children build strong bodies, peaceful minds, and positive lifestyles.

Yoga is a lifelong gift — one that nurtures health, happiness, and harmony. At Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School, we are proud to integrate this meaningful practice into the students’ daily routine and look forward to continuing many more such enriching programmes.
