Alevoor Poornaprajna Public School celebrated the festival of Onam with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit on 4th September 2025. The celebration reflected the school’s commitment to preserving traditions and cultural values deeply rooted in Udupi and the surrounding regions.

The highlight of the day was a beautiful Pookalam
(floral carpet), artistically arranged by students. The colourful patterns not only adorned the school premises but also symbolised prosperity and harmony. Students and teachers together created an atmosphere of joy, showcasing
teamwork and cultural pride.
Adding to the festive spirit, students enjoyed a traditional
Onam meal served on banana leaves, embracing the authenticity of Kerala’s
cultural practices. The experience helped children connect with the essence of
Onam—celebrating unity, prosperity, and togetherness.

Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, is a reminder of values like unity, equality, and joy in togetherness. Through this celebration, students learned about traditions, the importance of cultural diversity, and the need to uphold them in modern times.

Teachers and students came together dressed in festive attire, holding colourful posters and messages of goodwill. Various age groups actively participated in the celebration, from kindergarten to high school, each adding charm and enthusiasm. Smiling faces, laughter, and the vibrant floral decorations brought the entire campus alive with the festive spirit.
